The purpose of our work was to evaluate the performance of deconstructed xylans in cosmetic formulations, especially in “cream” formulations, which still represent the most frequently used formula category on the skin care market To do this, a typical cream formulation composition was designed and samples were compared to benchmarks ingredients. Xylans were also tested in “aqueous gels”, generally very appreciated for their freshness upon application.
Thirty samples from the EnXylaScope project were tested in these two types of formulations.

Some xylans showed interesting properties in creams and evidenced additional benefits. The manufacturing process was found easier with reduced environmental impacts, thanks to the wood origin.
