Seppic’s Corporate Social Responsibility program, Caring, prioritises conscious innovation, promotes renewables, reduces carbon impact in new ingredients, and safeguards biodiversity across the value chain. To support this commitment, Seppic Ecodesign helps internal teams find the best balance of environmental, social, technical, and economic requirements in the design and development of ingredients.

The Ecodesign program uses a dedicated tool to evaluate long-term environmental impacts (e.g. carbon emissions or water consumption) across an ingredient’s lifecycle (including production and transport), implementing actions to reduce the significant effects while preserving equivalent or superior benefits. The program focuses on four main steps:

• Impact of the Raw Materials Sourcing;
• Impact of the Manufacturing;
• Use Phase;
• End of Life.

These steps are complemented by six stages, based on an iterative approach, which enables continuous improvement of the environmental impact of a new ingredient during its development. 

With Seppic’s Ecodesign program, we create new, high-performance ingredients while considering environmental, social, and economic factors. By 2024, 100% of our innovative launches will adhere to this eco-designed approach, reaffirming our commitment to sustainability and responsibility.
